with it's own story to be told

Each wedding day is different and unique,

I tell wedding stories in a lifestyle meets editorial narrative for elopements, intimate ceremonies, and small gatherings.  From the bottom of my heart, I believe choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important tasks during wedding planning. Your wedding photographer isn’t just someone who is preserving your memories but they are someone who is going to be a part of those memories as well. Besides the love of your life, close friends and family, your photographer is someone who is going to be present for all the key moments of your day. Finding a photographer who you align with their shooting approach, editing style, and overall personality is going to make your day so much smoother.

my philosophy

I am there to be alongside you as you celebrate your next chapter in the story of love.

Take a journey with me–it’s your wedding day, you’ve spent months planning, the whole morning getting ready and making sure every detail is executed perfectly, and now the moment has come that you are going to see your partner for the first time. You have chosen to see your partner before your ceremony and have an intimate moment with friends or family around. As you walk over, the emotions of the day hit you and you’re overwhelmed with excitement, nervousness, and absolute blissful love. You are about to see the love of your on your guys' wedding day. It’s such a magical moment that you get to experience just the two of you–to connect and align on the day you are to be united forever. As you greet each other and embrace all the nerves, stress, and anxiety about the day wash away and it’s as though you guys are the only two there in the world. But wait…it’s not just you and your future spouse, you hear a click click in the distance. Your photographer gets to also be present in this incredible moment–they are involved in all types of special and unique moments like these. Finding someone who is going to make you feel comfortable, be excited with you, cry with you, and really connect with is so important to me. I genuinely believe when choosing your wedding photographer, you're not only choosing your day of BFF but someone who is going to be there past your wedding day and photograph your first anniversary, your maternity session, your newborn session, family sessions, and beyond.

your day of bff

As for me, I’m the type of photographer who can direct, get involved, and hype people up but I also balance that with being a fly on the wall, documenting as is moments, and allowing your wedding day to play out as intended to your vision. My photography approach can be described as lifestyle where I do an even mix of directed poses and documentary style. I will be goofy with your bridal party, cry with your family when they see how happy you are, and dance really badly at your reception. But most importantly, I will be alongside you and your partner to capture every moment you share during a beautiful day surrounded by so much love.

my style

I really believe in capturing emotions and the essence of any occasion.

"Emi is truly one of the kindest people I have ever met. From the first time my wife and I met with her to talk about our wedding photos we both felt instantly comfortable. She goes above and beyond to make sure that your day (whatever it is) is special and what you dreamed of. And the pictures are truly incredible. She has a way of capturing every detail, big and small. I cannot recommend her enough. Thank you so much Emi."

It’s so important to me that your photos are protected and backed up. On your wedding day, the cameras I use have two SD card slots so every image taken is on BOTH cards. After the wedding day, I will back up all of my images to my external harddrive and my external harddrive is backed up by a cloud based service. I also keep the original SD card safe and secure until the final images are delivered. So while your images are being edited, they are safely in three spaces. After the final gallery is delivered the final images are backed up on my external harddrive and the cloud based service.

Yes! I always have at least two camera bodies at every wedding. Nothing is more important to me than being prepared and not missing a moment on your day.

I’m based in metro-Detroit, Michigan however I love to travel! I am willing to travel throughout the state of Michigan, all over the United States, and beyond. If you want me to come to you for your wedding day, inquire and we’ll discuss the options and travel fees.

On your wedding day I mix an approach of direction and documentation. I like to capture things as they unfold and allow memories to be authentic. I balance this approach with direction and guidance during portraits or whenever you want an experienced voice to help you out (like hey–I’ve never actually cut a cake before…how does that work?) The mixing of candids, lifestyle photos, and posed portraits will ensure your day is captured in full as it unfolds. When I edit the final images, my artistic style can be described as clean and moody with true colors with a darker overall feel. To see this style and if you align with it, view my portfolio here.

A one hour complimentary engagement session is included in most packages but you are not obligated to use it. I do recommend using it, even if you’ve already done an engagement session or you’re a little camera shy–it allows you and your partner to get to know me and my style better before your big day.

Every single one of my final images is personally edited by me, where I do light edits to skin. I start by removing any blemishes and taking a softening brush to the skin which smooths over the skin. Any further retouching, I follow a two week rule–if it would be gone in two weeks (pimples, scratches, bruises) then I will remove it however anything specific you want removed please notify me ahead of time and understand an additional fee may be charged for extended editing times.

Yes! I always send a preview gallery of at least twenty five images within forty eight hours of your wedding. Then you can expect your full gallery within twelve weeks.

Yes, a one hour complimentary engagement session is included in all packages over four hours.

My packages four hours and above include a second photographer. Having a second photographer at your day allows for different angles to be captured, extra candids, and a second person to help keep a smooth timeline.

If it rains on your wedding day, it’s going to be okay. As much as it’s something we don’t want, it’s always a possibility and something to be prepared for. My number one recommendation is making sure your venue has a rain plan that you are comfortable with. As for me and my plan, the rain may change the location of certain aspects of your day and it’s possible we get a little wet. I recommend investing in clear umbrellas for you and your partner and your bridal party. We’ll brave the rain (or stay where it’s dry- totally up to you!) and still get amazing pictures!

After the initial inquiry, you will receive my wedding brochure which includes more information about your wedding day, my packages, and a questionnaire about your love story and wedding day. Once you have reviewed the information and submitted the questionnaire, we will schedule a phone call to talk in more details and answer any questions you may have. If we both decide that we’re the right fit for each other then we can move forward in the booking process by signing the contract and paying the non refundable deposit to secure your date. After you’re fully booked, we can schedule your engagement session and then closer to you wedding date we will work on your wedding day timeline and create your family formal list.
